The PKS Kids logo was really my first venture into creating a logo professionally. It followed much the same process that the current process follows, in that a selection of possible logos was made from which this one was eventually chosen. This was, however, a very informal process.
There is a personal side to it as well, since my daughter has this particular syndrome, Pallister Killian Syndrome. Awareness of this syndrome only really came out in the past 10 years and my wife and I were lucky enough to get to know some of the parents of these wonderful children through my wife's magnificent networking skills.
They sent out a request to all of us involved to come up with a logo as the non-profit was starting up. I submitted this, along with a few others (seen below), and am more than happy to say that they liked it enough to make it the identity of the cause. |
